![]() Katara and Zuko also shuffle awkwardly apart upon hearing this. The Katara actress tells Zuko that she finds him attractive, that she was into him from when she got captured by Zuko. They weren’t at the invasion if i remember correctly. Now that i think of it, what happened to Smellerbee and Longshot? They stayed behind with Jet so they should know what happened with him. “did Jet just die?” “you know, it was really unclear”. It backfires as Toph actually really likes her character. She now wants to hear from Toph a reaction that she no longer means that. i think Katara is a little bit salty about Toph calling her character truthful. It hurts, doesn’t it?” Katara is trying to tease Toph back? I think it’s a bit more than a tease, it has a bit of meanness in it. “Wait, i sound like a guy…” “well, Toph, what you see out there is the truth. ![]() She holds her hands over her mouth to suppress her laugh. Could the character be written differently in ember island players? If she does deserve to be teased about something the first things that come to my mind is her reacting very angry in some discussions, or being too mom-like in The Runaway. But i don’t think that’s anything she should be teased about. Without them she would be completely alone, lost her brother and only friend… There is also The Serpent’s Pass where she wanted to stay hopeful even though Aang wanted to abandon hope. Katara is so brave and strong, how do the others see her as a crybaby? I do recall her being very hopeful in The Winter Solstice that Aang was going to make it back with Sokka but that doesn’t seem ridiculous to me. The Gaang is silent and kind of agrees with the statement. “it’s not like i’m an emotional crybaby who can’t resist giving emotional speeches of hope all the time”. ![]() She seems clearly embarrassed now about her crush on Jet. More so i think she liked his leadership and confidence. I think Katara indeed fell for the “bad boy vibes” in Jet in a way. Katara’s actress to Jet’s actor: “ow Jet, you’re so bad”. “why did you have to steal the waterbending scroll” “it just gave me so much hope” Katara’s actress acts overly dramatic in the creeping crystal. The teasing is something that the Kataang relationship missed. I understand why there are so many Zutara fans out there. “They make me look stiff and humourless” “actually i think that actor is pretty spot-on”. “my heart is so full of hope that it’s making me tearbend”. I don’t recall instances where she was the only one in the Gaang being overly emotional. She experienced intense emotions but the emotions were always rightfully felt in my opinion. And although Katara can be emotional, i don’t really recall her being all that dramatic. Although there were also plenty of moments she stayed calm and rational. I do think it’s a good characterisation as we saw that Katara can be very emotional. Katara is portrayed as overly emotional and hopeful. They quickly realize that the characters are not very realistic representations. he’s very enthusiastic about him and Katara being a character. She clearly heard what Aang said, so why doesn’t the animators gave her a reaction? Maybe she pretended she didn’t heard what Aang said. What was his plan? Make a move on her during the play? Katara just sits there, not having a reaction. I agree with Sokka, this lighter episode feels like a good choice between the very emotional previous episode and the finale.Īang wanted to sit next to Katara. “this is the wacky time wasting nonsense i’ve been missing”. Katara watches Zuko and Aang train and wonders why they hide on Ember Island. The Gaang chose Ember Island as their next hiding spot. ![]() In this episode we take a look at Book Three Chapter Seventeen: The Ember Island Players A scene-by-scene analysis series of Katara in Avatar: The Last Airbender
